Terms & Conditions

The Century Club Membership Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 27th July 2023

1. Membership Fees

  • Membership fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Membership requires a minimum commitment of one full year, after which it renews automatically on a rolling annual basis. The next renewal will be processed on or around the same date each year without a reminder from the club. It is the member’s responsibility to keep track of their renewal date, which can be viewed at any time in their account via the app or member portal.
  • Upon approval or renewal of your membership, the membership fees are payable immediately. The membership team will always be in touch before processing your application and taking payment to confirm that you’d like to proceed. By providing your payment details, you agree to be charged the membership fees in the form specified by Century. Century reserves the right to amend membership fees at any time and will notify you in advance of any changes to the amount, date, or frequency of payments.
  • Failure to pay the annual subscription (or any instalment) within one month of the due date will result in the member being denied access to the club, and the membership will be terminated.
  • Century Club reserves the right not to invite a member to continue their membership after the initial 12-month period has been completed and is under no obligation to provide a reason for this decision.

2. Termination of Membership

  • A minimum of one month’s notice must be given in writing before terminating membership.

3. Guest Policy

  • Guests must wait for the member to arrive at the club before gaining access to the member floors.
  • Each member is allowed to bring up to four guests at any given time. To bring additional guests, members must obtain prior approval from the membership team.
  • Members must not leave the club before their guests, except with prior arrangement and at the discretion of management.
  • Each member is allowed to bring up to four guests at one time. To bring additional guests, prior approval must be obtained from the membership team. In the second-floor lounges during the daytime, the maximum table size we can accommodate is for five guests. It is not possible to extend this allowance; for additional guests, a meeting room would need to be hired, even if multiple members are part of the same group.
  • Guests must remain with the member at all times while in the club. They cannot occupy their own table or hold separate meetings. If this is required, an additional membership would need to be taken out.
  • If the same guest regularly accompanies a member—such as visiting daily—they may be approached to apply for their own membership.
  • Members are responsible for the behavior of their guests and will be financially liable for all facilities used by them. This includes covering any unpaid bills left by their guests, as well as any damages to club property caused by them.

4. Conduct and Behaviour

  • Members and their guests are expected to maintain respectful and appropriate behaviour at all times. Any conduct deemed inappropriate by the management may result in termination of membership.

5. Billing and Payment Policy

  • Members must settle their bills before leaving Century Club premises. Guests may settle their own bills; however, in cases where a guest leaves without payment, the outstanding amount will be the responsibility of the member who signed them into the club.
  • Century Club reserves the right to refuse entry to any member with outstanding balances owed. Any member who fails to settle their bill within 30 days will have their membership suspended until the outstanding balance is cleared.
  • At the discretion of Century Club, formal action may be taken to recover unpaid amounts. In such cases, the member’s membership may be terminated.

This policy ensures smooth operations and fairness for all members and guests. Please ensure all accounts are settled promptly to avoid any inconvenience.

6. Membership Cards

  • To gain entry to the Century Club, you must present your physical or digital membership card at reception. Members may also be asked to show their membership card when ordering food or drinks, or when opening a bar tab.
  • Membership cards are strictly non-transferable. If a member allows their card to be used by a non-member, the non-member will be denied access or removed from the club. Additionally, the member may face suspension or termination of their membership for violating this policy.
  • 7. Dress Code

    • Members and their guests are expected to follow the club’s smart casual dress code. Management reserves the right to deny entry to anyone dressed inappropriately.

    8. Use of Facilities

    • The facilities of The Century Club are for the exclusive use of members and their guests. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests abide by club rules.
    • Damage to club property by a member or their guests will be the financial responsibility of the member.
    • In the second-floor day lounges, there is a minimum spend of £10 per table.

    9. Privacy and Confidentiality

    • Members must respect the privacy of other members and guests. Sharing any personal information or business conducted within the club without explicit consent is prohibited.

    10. Smoking Policy

    • Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. Violation of this policy may result in immediate termination of membership.

    11. Liability

  • The management and employees are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury suffered by members or their guests, except in cases of personal injury caused by negligence on the part of the management.
  • Century Club cannot be used as a member’s postal address, and post or deliveries for members will not be accepted unless specifically agreed upon for events.
  • The Club offers a cloakroom service for coats and bags; however, it will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to property or luggage left in the cloakroom or elsewhere on the premises.
  • 12. Honorary Membership

  • Honorary membership is granted at the discretion of the Membership Committee on an annual basis and is subject to review each year. The Membership Committee reserves the right to withdraw honorary membership at any time without prior notice.
  • 13. Mobile Phone and Device Usage

    • Members are welcome to use mobile phones and electronic devices, but they must do so discreetly. Loud conversations or behavior that disrupts the atmosphere of the club is not permitted.

    • Members may work on laptops during the day; however, laptops must be switched off and put away by 6 pm when the club transitions into a social space for cocktails, dining, and hopefully dancing.
    • While laptops are allowed between meetings or occasionally, the second-floor day lounges are not intended to be used as a daily office space. Members are encouraged to use the club in a way that fosters a balanced and enjoyable atmosphere for all.

    14. Refunds and Credits

    • Any money left in credit on a member’s account is non-refundable under any circumstances.

    15. Food and Drink Policy

    • Please note that no outside food or drink, including snacks and sweets, may be consumed on club premises. As a small business, we rely on hospitality revenue to sustain our operations. Additionally, there are health and safety concerns associated with consuming food prepared outside of our establishment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all members.

    16. Drug Policy

  • Century Club maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward the use of drugs and any other illegal activities on the premises.
  • 17. Age Policy

  • Children are welcome in the restaurant before 9 pm. Guests under 18 years of age may be admitted to other areas of the club only with prior consent and at the discretion of management.
  • 18. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

    • The Century Club reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of any changes via email or official club communication channels.

By becoming a member of The Century Club, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Failure to comply may result in the termination of your membership.
