EXCLUSIVE LONDON SHOW TO CELEBRATE THE RELEASE OF MAX DÉCHARNÉ’S NEW ALBUM, VERONICA’S LAKE
One year after the appearance of his internationally-acclaimed solo LP, Night Darkens The Streets – 9/10 Allan Jones, Uncut (UK); 4/5 Lois Wilson, MOJO (UK); 4/5 Kris Needs, Record Collector (UK); 4/5 Wolfgang Doebeling, Rolling Stone (Germany); Stan Cuesta, Rock & Folk (France) – Max Décharné’s new album, Veronica’s Lake, will be released in November on 12-inch vinyl by Dangerhouse Skylab, comprising ten brand new songs he wrote and recorded in spring this year at Straw Dogs Studios in North London. 
Max Décharné will perform a selection of his songs on piano, accompanied by Calina de la Mare on viola and violin.
MAX DÉCHARNÉ
A piano player since the age of four, and a drummer since he was eleven, Max gigged internationally as a drummer with his friend Nikki Sudden before joining Gallon Drunk in 1991. For 25 years from 1994 onwards, he was the singer and principal songwriter with The Flaming Stars. He recorded nine John Peel Sessions and played shows all across the USA, Canada, virtually every country in Europe and also in Japan. Max is also the author of ten books, the most recent, Teddy Boys – Post-war Britain & the First Youth Revolution, was published in 2024. Night Darkens The Streets, his first solo album, was released in November 2024. Veronica’s Lake is the follow-up.
CALINA DE LA MARE
Calina has played regularly with the Tindersticks as an extra member since 1994. During that time she has also played violin and viola with a very wide variety of artists, both on tour and on record, including Paul McCartney, Kim Deal, Bryan Ferry, Delta Goodrem, Barry Adamson, The Divine Comedy, Nerina Pallot, Peter Gabriel and many others. The debut LP by Calina’s current band 3Head has just been released by the Creation Youth label this summer.
